Let me begin this post by first apologizing on behalf of the wedding planning industry. We have let you and thousands of other couples down by misleading you to believe that day-of wedding coordination exists. It doesn’t.

There is no magical formula, secret sauce, or whimsical, time-traveling elves that I carry around in my back pocket that allow me to show up on the day of your wedding and execute your event flawlessly.

Trust me. I wish it was this easy. But if that were the case, would you even be considering a wedding planner or coordinator in the first place?

The truth is, to ensure that your wedding day runs smoothly and that you and your partner actually get to enjoy your day instead of stressing over the details, you’ll need a wedding pro to thoughtfully consider and manage the details of your event in the months and weeks leading up to it. At Dantus & Co. Events we refer to this level of service as wedding managementSo just what is wedding management?

Trusted Advisor

Wedding management allows engaged couples in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and beyond to work with a trusted wedding professional throughout the entire wedding planning process. Usually once you’ve booked your venue. Got a question about a contract or need help establishing your wedding budget or narrowing down your guest list? Consider us your wedding advisors. We’ll be in your corner cheering you on as you make key decisions for your wedding day and equipping you with tools behind the scenes to help you along the way.

Vendor Recommendations

Searching for the right vendors to round out your vendor dream team can feel overwhelming. Our wedding management service gives couples access to our preferred vendor list. These are vendors we know and trust. In some cases, we’ve been able to secure access to special offerings just for our clients. If you’re looking for something else, we can always point you in the right direction or leverage our network to find someone that can.

Timeline Development & Vendor Communication

Your timeline is one of the most important tools for success on your wedding day and it is catered specifically to you. We spend hours, pouring through your contracts, communicating with vendors (especially when we’re working with someone for the first time) and you to understand the game plan for your wedding day. But our work doesn’t stop there. We take all of that information and craft it into a seamless production timeline for your wedding weekend. A few weeks before your wedding we become the official point of contact so that your vendors are calling us with questions and not you.

Event Execution & Troubleshooting

Finally, we make it all happen. Our team will run your wedding rehearsal and then show up bright and early on the day of your wedding to ensure everything is running according to plan. When it doesn’t, we take action to get things back on track. And unless it involves a financial decision, you won’t even know about those issues! We’re the first ones in and the last ones out making your wedding day vision a reality.

Final Thoughts

Your wedding not only carries a lot of emotional value but it can come with a hefty price tag and involve a lot of your time too. You and your partner owe it to yourselves to safeguard your investment by hiring a wedding professional to help you navigate the wedding planning process and manage your carefully curated wedding details.

  1. Chris Ferenzi Photography says:

100% agree! Thank you for writing this. As a photographer, I’m usually the one trying to be the "day-of" coordinator and it’s literally impossible.

  2. Kirk hill says:

Trusted advisor, vendor recommendations, and timeline development & vendor communication are "Wedding Planning."
Event execution & troubleshooting is "Day of Coordination."

It’s important to understand the difference between planning and coordination. Your argument may actually be that "your planner makes the best day of coordinator" which certainly may be the case however day of coordination definitely exsists.
