Richmond Destination Wedding at The Virginia House (Richmond, Virginia)

filed under

2/24/24

Laura and Alex desired an intimate Virgina destination wedding in unrivaled settings, so they picked the stellar Virginia House. Their summer union was enchanting and dreamy, just like they imagined it. We were excited to work at a venue like this because it is a true mark of history. Its marvelous view of the James River added a special magical touch to an occasion like this.

Laura and Alex chose this place from many magnificent Virginia, DC and Maryland wedding venues we presented them with to exchange vows because they adore old European architecture. As their wedding planners in DC, we devoted our time to curating the ultimate Virginia destination wedding, and naturally, we set our hearts on finding the perfect venue for them. We were over the moon when we found a place that checked all of their boxes.

However, Laura and Alex’s nuptial was not iconic solely because of the architecture. We incorporated their cultural traditions and backgrounds and created something truly unique and special. Everyone enjoyed an afternoon that included Italian and Southern traditions and cuisines, meaning the guests had the chance to experiences something new and exciting.

This Virginia House wedding included floral arrangements from Flueressence Floral Design that complemented the natural surroundings. The floral arch where they shared their “I do’s” was gorgeously set with blooms in different soft colors. There were also some antique details like silver vintage trays and frames that our couple sourced from some of their antiquing trips together. The reception continued the colorfulness with ornate tableware and classic linen selections in subtle tones of blue and beige.

Since both Laura and Alex love board games, we included a lifesize crossword puzzle with fun facts about the couples as part of the wedding entertainment. All the guests enjoyed this party detail, especially the younger attendees. The whole day passed with a lot of dancing, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

However, although the entire day was spectacular, it would all be for nothing if it was not for Laura and Alex’s unconditional love. Their love was the energy that led this wonderful party to a huge success. It was a great honor to be part of something so pure and emotional, and we are happy that they chose us to craft their ideal Virginia destination wedding!
