J + L’s Wedding Day

As DC wedding planners, we are always super ecstatic to realize our couple’s dreams! Laurie and James’ story completely charmed us, and we were eager to make their event special. From discovering one another online, and nerding out over Wikipedia, to getting engaged at the Titanic Memorial and having the most amazing Fathom Gallery wedding – their tale is absolutely spectacular!

To be honest, they couldn’t have picked a better intimate DC wedding venue for their ceremony and reception! The Fathom Gallery is a historic building that used to be a automobiles brakes shop. Now, it is refurbished into a modern, stylish space with an industrial touch, perfect for various events, art exhibits, and more! It is definitely one of the most beautiful DC wedding venues – perfectly matched their personalities and welcomed their 40 guests to a day filled with love and joy.

For their Fathom Gallery wedding ceremony, Laurie opted for custom vow books with pictures of their dog. It was an awesome way to include her on their big day! The vow exchange was hosted on the outdoor rooftop in a wonderfully intimate atmosphere.

The floral decor was brought to perfection by Stem & Thistle, combining the colors and textures of spring flowers! Among them were roses, lilacs, delphiniums, tulips, ranunculus, hellebores, peonies, sweet peas, local foliage, and so many more. A true spring symphony! They wanted a vibrant, colorful atmosphere that felt welcoming without feeling too formal. To spice up the experience, upon arrival, the guests were welcomed with raspberry rickey and gin basil smash. Ain’t that amazing?

To make their celebration even more epic, the couple designed five distinct menus so that each guest had customized meal options. This is a lovely way to make your guests feel appreciated, especially when it is an intimate Washington DC wedding such as this! Naturally, the festive vibes couldn’t have felt complete without music, so DJ DMac & Associates ensured to hype the atmosphere. To recap, in their words – “best dinner party ever”!

Being their DC wedding planners, we ensured to gather the most talented team to pull off their vision flawlessly. Feel free to witness the magic of their big day through the artistry of Angelika Johns Photography and Paperboys Films.
